Here at G-Form we have been gearing up for Rio by re-releasing an epic documentary of BASE Jumper and Wingsuit Pilot, Jamie Flynn, attempting a wingsuit flyby of Brazil’s iconic Christ the Redeemer statue. The documentary highlights our excitement for Rio and continued commitment to keeping athletes protected from head to toe during competition.
“This year marks the first time the best athletes in the world come together in Rio de Janeiro and we wanted to create even more of a buzz within the city leading up to August 5,” said Michael DeLeon, VP Global Marketing, G-Form. “G-Form is thrilled to have partnered with Jamie Flynn on this historical jump, as his story of recovery and determination exemplifies the importance of wearing protection gear.”
Back in January of this year, Flynn teamed up with local jumper, Gustavo Areias, and Wingsuit Cameraman, Sam Hardy to complete the highly anticipated mission. After encountering six days of inclement weather, the skies finally cleared and the team was able to execute their long-awaited leap. The jump was another obstacle Flynn was able to conquer following a June 2013 accident that left him with a broken ankle, femur, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
“I am convinced that without their protective padding, the injuries I suffered would have been even more substantial,” said Jamie Flynn, G-Form Ambassador. “I make it a point to wear G-Form padding on every jump and I stress to every athlete, regardless of the sport, to do the same.”
